Kirloskar Cast Steel Globe Valves are premium, throttling-grade pipeline components designed specifically for regulating, throttling, and managing fluid flow under high-temperature and high-pressure settings. Manufactured by Kirloskar Brothers Limited (KBL), these valves feature a highly functional spherical body and a taper plug-type disc. They are widely accepted by the National Thermal Power Corporation (NTPC), major petrochemical plants, and water supply authorities across India.
Unlike gate valves which are only meant to be fully open or fully closed, Kirloskar Globe Valves provide precision flow control and a tight, leak-proof shut-off.
Core
- Design & Manufacturing Standard: Engineered strictly in accordance with BS 1873 specifications.
- Testing Standard: Tested dynamically to BS EN 12266 or API 598 guidelines.
- Size Spectrum: Regularly stocked from 50 mm to 300 mm (Custom large-bore configurations are available via factory request).
- Pressure Ratings: Readily available in Class 150, Class 300, and Class 600 configurations.
- Material of Construction (MOC):
- Body & Bonnet: ASTM A216 Grade WCB (Cast Carbon Steel).
- Disc: Taper plug type, precision ground to match renewable seat rings.
- Trim Parts: Premium Stainless Steel SS410 (13% Chromium facing) for excellent wear and temperature resistance.
- End Connections: Double-flanged raised face (ANSI B16.5 RF) or high-pressure Butt-weld ends.
- Operation: Outside Screw & Yoke (OS&Y), rising spindle, managed via handwheel or specialized gear actuators.
Key
- Accurate Flow Regulation: The streamlined inner flow passages minimize internal pressure losses and cavitation erosion during throttling.
- Repacking Under Pressure: Integrated with a backseat bush arrangement that allows engineers to repack the stem gland safely even while the valve is completely open under line pressure.
- Robust Service Life: Constructed from high-strength cast carbon steel to handle thermal expansion and prevent pipeline leaks over long service cycles.
